SOUL Nola

February has been yet another busy month at Leaaf.  Here’s a list of some of the highlights.

We celebrated the Carnival season with far too many breakfast king cakes and had an office party along the Endymion parade route with oysters and finger sandwiches.

We had the opportunity to participate as volunteers in one of SOUL Nola’s tree planting events in Algiers.  See our previous blog entry for more details!

We celebrated environmental scientist Madeline Dickson's birthday and President's day with homemade pineapple upside-down cakes made by Holly!

Madeline's Birthday

We kept busy preparing for our sponsored luncheon / professional development session with CMAA Gulf Coast on Green Infrastructure.  We had a wonderful turnout and a thoroughly engaging presentation.  Thank you to the City of New Orleans and to Seersucker Catering!

We had a company-wide respirator fit-test.

“When the sunlight strikes raindrops in the air, they act like a prism and form a rainbow. The rainbow is a division of white light into many colors. These take the shape of a long round arch, with its path high above, and its two ends apparently beyond the horizon. There is, according to legend, a boiling pot of gold at the end. People look, but no one ever finds it. When a man looks for something beyond his reach, his friends say he is looking for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.”

We are going into March very busy still, with Phase Is abound.  We are looking forward to the Louisiana Solid Waste Association Conference on the 14th!
