Once you have registered, Leaaf will reach out to you via email to provide additional details on course time, location, etc. and to process your payment.

Please note that Leaaf’s training courses are intended to provide the training necessary for accreditation through the state of Louisiana’s Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ). All trainees are responsible for passing any Leaaf-administered test, using the proper LDEQ form and paying the necessary LDEQ fees in order to receive full accreditation.

LDEQ Asbestos Trainings

This training lasts 3 days / 24 hours and provides the training necessary to inspect for asbestos-contaminated building materials in schools, public buildings, and commercial buildings.  Through lectures and hands-on activities, this course covers topics such as the role of inspectors, legal liabilities and defenses, building systems and management, sampling, and the regulatory environment.  This course includes a field experience during which the trainee will be guided through the process of a walk-through inspection and practice with physical assessment elements. It is the responsibility of the trainee to pass the Leaaf administered test of fifty (50) multiple-choice questions in order to receive training certification.  It is the responsibility of the trainee to file the proper LDEQ accreditation form AAC-1 and pay the required fees to receive LDEQ accreditation. Pre-Requisites: Any individual wishing to become certified as an Asbestos Inspector must possess a high school diploma or GED.

This refresher training lasts 1/2 days / 4 hours and provides the training necessary to maintain the Asbestos Inspector certification.  The course includes an overview of initial course content and updates to industry standards and/or the legal/regulatory environment. It is the responsibility of the trainee to file the proper LDEQ accreditation form AAC-1 and pay the required fees to receive LDEQ accreditation. Pre-Requisites: Asbestos Inspector Certification.

**PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS AN EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT TO RECEIVE CERTIFICATION FOR THIS COURSE This training lasts 5 days / 40 hours and provides the training you will need to supervise activities associated with addressing the presence and/or disturbance of asbestos on the job. Through lectures and hands-on activities, this course covers topics such as the characteristics of asbestos, proper work practices, relevant regulations and programs, supervisory techniques, recordkeeping regulations, and other important information relating to the proper handling of asbestos. It is the responsibility of the trainee to pass the Leaaf administered test of one hundred (100) multiple-choice questions in order to receive training certification. It is the responsibility of the trainee to file the proper LDEQ accreditation form AAC-1 and pay the required fees to receive LDEQ accreditation. Pre-Requisites: N/A.

This refresher training lasts 1 day / 8 hours and provides the training necessary to maintain the Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor certification. The course includes an overview of initial course content and updates to industry standards and/or the legal/regulatory environment. Please note that this course is intended to provide the training necessary for accreditation through the state. It is the responsibility of the trainee to file the proper LDEQ accreditation form AAC-1 and pay the required fees to receive LDEQ accreditation. Pre-Requisites: Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor Certification.

This training lasts 2 days / 16 hours and provides the training necessary to prepare management plans for schools. Through lectures and demonstrations, this course covers topics such as operations and maintenance (O&M) programs, hazard assessment, the role of the management planner, O&M plan development, and the legal/regulatory environment. It is the responsibility of the trainee to pass the Leaaf administered test of fifty (50) multiple-choice questions in order to receive training certification. It is the responsibility of the trainee to file the proper LDEQ accreditation form AAC-1 and pay the required fees to receive LDEQ accreditation. Pre-Requisites: Any individual wishing to become certified as an Asbestos Management Planner must be certified asbestos inspector and a registered architect, engineer, certified hygienist, or have bachelor's degree in a related scientific field; or a bachelor’s degree and five years’ experience related to assessments and abatement projects in schools and state buildings as an accredited asbestos inspector. It is the responsibility of the trainee to file the proper LDEQ accreditation form AAC-1 and pay the required fees to receive LDEQ accreditation.

This training lasts 4 days / 32 hours and provides the training you need to respond correctly in the event of the presence and/or disturbance of asbestos on the job.  Through lectures and hands-on activities, this course covers topics such as the physical characteristics of asbestos, potential health effects, proper protective equipment, and other standard guidelines to follow when asbestos is present on a job. Please note that this course is intended to provide the training necessary for accreditation through the state.  It is the responsibility of the trainee to pass the Leaaf administered test of fifty (50) multiple-choice questions in order to receive training certification.  It is the responsibility of the trainee to file the proper LDEQ accreditation form AAC-1 and pay the required fees to receive LDEQ accreditation. Pre-Requisites: N/A.  Please note that an accredited Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor may perform in the role of Asbestos Worker without the possession of separate accreditation as a worker.

The course includes an overview of initial course content and updates to industry standards and/or the legal/regulatory environment. Please note that this course is intended to provide the refresher training necessary for accreditation through the state. It is the responsibility of the trainee to file the proper LDEQ accreditation form AAC-1 and pay the required fees to receive LDEQ accreditation. Pre-Requisites: Asbestos Worker Certification. Please note that an accredited Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor may perform in the role of Asbestos Worker without the possession of separate accreditation as a worker.

LDEQ Lead Trainings

This refresher lasts 1 day (8 hours) and provides the training necessary to maintain the Lead Inspector certification. The course includes an overview of initial course content and updates to industry standards and/or the legal/regulatory environment. Please note that this course is intended to provide the refresher training necessary for accreditation through the state. It is the responsibility of the trainee to file the proper LDEQ accreditation form LPF-1 and pay the required fees to receive LDEQ accreditation. Pre-Requisites: Lead Inspector Initial (24 Hours)

This refresher lasts 1 day (8 hours) and provides the training necessary to maintain the Lead Supervisor certification. The course includes an overview of initial course content and updates to industry standards and/or the legal/regulatory environment. Please note that this course is intended to provide the refresher training necessary for accreditation through the state. It is the responsibility of the trainee to file the proper LDEQ accreditation form LPF-1 and pay the required fees to receive LDEQ accreditation. Pre-Requisites: Lead Supervisor Initial (32 Hours)

EPA Renovation, Repair, and Paining (RRP) Trainings

This training lasts 1 day / 8 hours and provides the training necessary to prepare renovation, repair, and painting contractors how to work safely in housing with lead-based paint and comply with EPA’s Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Rule and HUD’s Lead Safe Housing Rule.  Through lectures and hands-on activities, this course covers topics such as why lead paint is a concern, the legal/regulatory environment, dust containment, proper cleaning, and proper recordkeeping. It is the responsibility of the trainee to pass the Leaaf administered test in order to receive training certification. Pre-Requisites: N/A.

This refresher training lasts ½ day / 4 hours and provides the training necessary to maintain the Lead Safety for Renovation, Repair, and Painting Certified Renovator certification.  The course includes an overview of initial course content and updates to industry standards and/or the legal/regulatory environment. It is the responsibility of the trainee to pass the Leaaf administered test in order to receive training certification. Pre-Requisites: RRP Initial Certification.

I understand that the course for which I have registered is the first step in a multi-stage process for obtaining certification from the state agency and that I am fully responsible for completing this process. I am aware that this process includes filling out state agency form(s), submitting the form(s) to the state agency, paying associated fees, and the taking and passing state-administered tests as required.
