Associations and Memberships
Leaaf is active in a number of different organizations in the business and environmental sectors and is proud to be associated with the following organizations:
| American Chemical Society (ACS)
ACS is a congressionally chartered independent membership organization which represents professionals at all degree levels and in all fields of chemistry and sciences that involve chemistry. Leaaf is a member of ACS.
| American Institute of Architects (AIA) – New Orleans
A component of the American Institute of Architects, AIA New Orleans was founded in 1911 to represent, educate and serve the architecture profession and entire community as concerns the built environment. Leaaf is a professional affiliate member of AIA New Orleans.
| Westbank Business and Industry Association (WBIA)
WBIA, formerly Havey Canal Industrial Association (HCIA), was founded in 1946 by and for companies along the Harvey Canal for the purpose of increasing business. Today, WBIA is an association consisting of companies located in serveral parishes on the west and east banks of the Mississippi River throughout the metropolitan area. Leaaf is a member of WBIA, and Jesse Hoppes, a managing member of Leaaf, serves on the WBIA Board.
| Louisiana Brownfields Association (LBA)
Founded in July of 2006, the LBA’s goal is to promote environmental restoration, economic revitalization, natural resource preservation, conservation and recreational-based beneficial reuse, enhancement of financial and regulatory incentives, job creation and training, public health, environmental equity and justice, and community outreach and education. Leaaf is a member of LBA and Claire Renault, one of Leaaf’s founding members, is a Board Member.
| Louisiana Groundwater Association (LGWA)
LGWA and its members, primarily water well drillers and geotechnical drillers, are helping to preserve the Louisiana groundwater aquifers and recharge areas. Claire Renault, one of the founding members of Leaaf, is a member of LGWA and is a licensed driller that presents at the LGWA annual driller’s conference.
| Louisiana Urban Stormwater Coalition (LUSC)
The LUSC is an EPA and LDEQ-supported nonprofit organization that assists parishes, municipalities, neighborhoods, and MS4s in meeting stormwater program goals through education. Claire Renault, one of Leaaf’s founding members, is a member of LUSC and is in the process of completing her certification to become a Stormwater inspector for construction sites.
| National Association for Environmental Professionals (NAEP)
NAEP is a multi-disciplinary association for professionals dedicated to the advancement of the environmental professions and serves as a forum for state-of-the-art information on environmental planning, research and management. Leaaf is a member of NAEP.
| New Orleans Chamber
The New Orleans Chamber of Commerce was founded in 2004 to provide members with the opportunity to build mutually beneficial partnerships within the City of New Orleans. Leaaf is a member of the Chamber of Commerce; in addition, Claire Renault, one of the founding members of Leaaf, is a member of the New Orleans Chamber Women’s Business Alliance.
| Society of American Military Engineers (SAME)
SAME is an organization dedicating to advancing the skills of engineers, architects, and construction and environmental professionals. Leaaf is an active member of the New Orleans post.
| Construction Management Association of America (CMAA)
The CMAA is North America's only organization dedicated exclusively to the interests of professional Construction and Program Managment. CMAA is leading the growth and acceptance of construction management as a professional discipline that can add significant value to the entire construction process, from conception to ongoing operation. Leaaf is an active member of the Gulf Coast Chapter.
|New Orleans Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW)
New Orleans CREW is the premier commercial real estate association in the Greater New Orleans Metropolitan Area for women (and even a few savvy men!) from all disciplines of commercial real estate. Rachel Fenasci is an active member of New Orleans CREW.
